Our Philosophy on Breeding

We work very hard to ensure that your Quest puppy is the best it can be.  Both parents are temperament and health tested to be clear of any genetic diseases. I evaluate both parents for structural faults or flaws to try to improve upon each parent and produce puppies superior to their parents. I do not work outside the home so I am here all day with the puppies.  Our puppies are raised in our home and are handled daily by children and adults. We have several cats that can frequently be found sleeping with the young pups before they get too rough. Your puppy will also be exposed to the other household dogs not only BC's but a GSD and a Papillon also.  We take our puppies outside for playtime where they can experience the great outdoors. Weather permitting they get a chance to play in  water and with a variety of toys which are so much more fun when sopping wet. They are exposed to many different flooring materials like carpet, wood floors rocks, cement, dirt and grass. Our home is not a quiet place and the pups are raised in the midst of all the real life commotion of a family. When our puppies are weaned they are fed a high quality grain free diet that is soaked in fresh organic goats milk. Once they are eating  "real food" I begin clicker training the puppies, they will know sit, down and come. They will recieve one vaccine prior to leaving.

At about 6 weeks of age I begin to seriously evaluate the puppies for structure, drive and temperment. I also begin to try to "fit" the perfect puppy with each prospective owner. It is very important to us that the puppy picking decision be made intelligently and rationally not by color or markings. A high drive puppy does not belongs in a pet home any more than a low drive dog belongs in a trial home. If more than one puppy will fit your needs you are then given a chance to "pick" your puppy.

All puppies are sold on non-breeding limited registrations. I do not want one of the puppies I bred to end up being unethically bred. It is up the discretion of Quest Border Collies if a limited status be lifted once all health test are done.

Quest Border Collies are AKC registered.
